Flying Stories Wanted
Monday, April 27, 2009
If you’ve flown Canada’s North, we’d love to hear from you.
We need your help. We’re working with Omni Film on a new show for the History Channel about real-life Buffalo Airlines in Yellowknife. With a fleet of old WWII airplanes, Buffalo’s crew of colourful characters flies throughout the North, encountering adventure and navigating danger at every turn.
As part of the show’s website, we’re creating a cool interactive Google Map that will plot stories from people who have flown all over the north for any airline. If you’re a pilot, mechanic, flight attendant, ground crew, nurse, doctor, passenger, etc. with a story about flying the north - or know someone who does - please share it with us at iflewthenorth. We’ll collect your stories, and incorporate them into a big interactive online map of ‘stories from the north’ about aviation. The website will also include news about the show itself, scheduled to air this Fall.
