Excellent New Typefaces

The winning entries of this year’s TDC2 have been recently announced by the Type Directors Club. We would like to congratulate all the winners and look forward to using these excellent types for one of our upcoming projects.
We especially like the Display Type Ventura, by Dino dos Santos from Portugal, a typographic revival of the calligraphic work of Ventura da Silva. It also comes as an OpenType with a lot of features like ligatures, alternates, fractions, scientific inferiors, superscript, swashes, oldstyle figures, lining figures, tabular figures, numerators, denominators, and ordinals.
Also very unique is the Text / Type Family Marat by Ludwig Übele from The Netherlands. It is an elegant typeface with a soft and friendly appearance. Marat comes in five different weights and includes italics, small caps, various OpenType features and a wide range of language support. Each font includes oldstyle and lining figures, both proportional and tabular. Upright fonts include small caps accessible by OpenType feature.
