Canadian Paralympic Committee

Did you know that Canada is the fourth most successful Paralympic nation? Or that we’ve won 1097 medals since 1968? If you didn’t, you’re not alone. In fact, when the Canadian Paralympic Committee approached us to redesign their website, one of their goals was to raise the profile of Paralympic sport in Canada – and foster pride in Paralympic athletes, particularly as the Vancouver 2010 Paralympic Winter Games were just months away.
Equally important for the CPC was creating a site that could better serve the media’s needs as the Paralympic Winter Games approached. News; athlete profiles and stats; images and videos; and real-time Games results had to be easily accessible for national and international media personnel.
Our approach: Incorporate lots of user-friendly, self-serve content paired with a design that puts the focus on the athletes themselves, including rotating profiles on the home page, a database of past and present Paralympians, and action-style graphics that convey the intensity of Paralympic competition. Aligned with the CPC’s new brand direction, the new site is now a valuable resource for both the public and the media, and showcases the skill and passion of Canada’s Paralypians.
