Barack Obama is Your New Bicycle

Continuing my coverage of the presidential campaigns down south, there have been a slew of interesting “grassroots” style campaigns popping up for Barack Obama.

The most produced and publicized is this amazing music video produced by will.i.am from The Black Eyed Peas. The song is a reworking of Obama’s speech after losing the New Hampshire primary. Damned if this video doesn’t get me all choked up.

Secondly, Shepard Fairey (of Obey Giant fame) threw his support behind Obama and produced a limited edition run of posters, with proceeds going back to the Obama campaign. He’s done a couple runs already with phenomenal success, and they’re now distrubuting flyers via download for people to put up in their hometown. Read an interview with Fairey from Creativity Online. | Check out more posters during the primaries here.

Lastly - and my personal favourite - this amazing viral site popped up on Valentines Day. If you want the backstory, you can go here, but - like many viral sites - this site has gone way beyond whatever original meaning it had. Even more hilariously, sites have since gone up for Hillary Clinton, Ron Paul, John McCain and Michelle Obama.

You can’t buy publicity like this!
