A group of us at Fleming… along with a few thousand other people…headed down to Creekside Park this morning to see a live, outdoor taping of The Colbert Report. Under a sunny sky and atop a muddy field, we waited for the Assistant Sports Psychologist for the 2010 US Olympic Speedskating Team (aka Colbert) to make his appearance. Finally, after a rousing O Canada from the crowd, Colbert stepped onto the Canadiana-bedecked stage (moose, beaver, skis….you get the drift), getting us simultaneously riled up and amused with his take on all things Olympic and Canadian. The highlight (lowlight?)...Colbert and Michael Buble singing the national anthem to the tune of The Star Spangled Banner!
Stop by www.brentbutt.com and get a hit of humour from funny man, actor, writer, producer, and director Brent Butt. We were thrilled to create a ‘cyber-den’ for Canada’s top comedian, an online home for Brent’s babblings, hand-drawn cartoons, photos, YouTube clips, tour dates, and more. Check in regularly and follow along as the ‘technically challenged’ Brent gets up to speed on the ways of the web, including video logs (his first one is...interesting) and ‘tweeting.’
We like to thank our clients in ways they’ll appreciate. So, when it came to thanking the Interior Designers Institute of BC and congratulate them on the launch of their new website and print materials, what better way than building a miniature room interior? And when it comes to interiors, what’s more chic than shag carpeting, Barbie-size hot pink furniture, and swing lighting? Hmmm. Well, we won’t be winning any interior design awards any time soon but our “lounge” got a good laugh - and the branded touches, including IDIBC newsletter, a monitor displaying their website, and M&M’s in their corporate colours, were a hit!
One of my favorite websites this year for Nokia’s business mobile phone – the E-Series. The Unloader – a crazy and funny site to waste your time. Just upload one of your boring documents and pick one of the three ways you want it to be destroyed. After the file have been uploaded you can actually see how it comes out of the regular printer. Have a look at the ‘Making of’ as well.
