If you’re passionate about pedaling around town or ripping down trails on two wheels, you’ve no doubt heard that Mountain Equipment Co-op has launched its own line of bikes. What you might not know is that Fleming Design was asked to develop an overall design concept and direction for the MEC bike brand, and then design individual bike graphics that would fit within the overarching MEC brand. For Fleming’s diehard cycling enthusiasts (we have several), a project doesn’t get much better than this!
The 2010 Olympic graphic identity and pictograms were unveiled yesterday in Vancouver. Overall the system is very comprehensive and impressive. From the west coast colour palette to the wonderfully detailed pictograms, the entire system sets us apart. They have also created a short behind-the-inspiration movie talking about the design team’s process and inspiration. You can view it here
Genius - such a simple viral idea and also a totally brand-appropriate viral for Skype. This cracks me up!

Continuing my coverage of the presidential campaigns down south, there have been a slew of interesting “grassroots” style campaigns popping up for Barack Obama.
Today’s launch of False Creek Design Group’s new website caps off our rebranding of this leading interior design firm. The Vancouver-based company initially approached us to develop a fresh identity in line with their forward-thinking corporate philosophy and cross-disciplinary capabilities. After an initial research and exploration phase, we helped FCDG narrow down the key concepts of their brand they wanted to convey - sustainability, innovation, and resourcefulness. We went on to express those qualities through a clean and organic brand identity that embraces beauty found in nature, and a website that’s as flexible and user-friendly as their interior design work. We invite you to check out their new brand and website at http://www.fcdgroup.com.
